Public health consulting for clients invested in health equity.

I am interested in working with clients—whether nonprofits, healthcare systems, health departments, universities, insurance providers, or those in the private sector—who have a deep commitment to investing in community-driven solutions. My clients believe community members are the experts of their own experience and should be leading policy and systems change to improve health equity.

Common Pantry Food Programs Manager

"Lucy was a breath of fresh air, always bringing a positivity, a genuine professionalism and a commitment to never get off a call without addressing everything and making sure we had feasible, flexible, and logical steps forward... Her final report is truly a public health research project that could stand its own in many scientific journals, containing insightful connections and analysis, thorough explanation of our step-by-step process, and a true talent for translating large sets of data into clear bottom lines that uplift the communities that are lucky to have her voice."

Examples of My Work

Community-Based Participatory Research

With the Illinois Public Health Institute, I supported implementation of 2021-2022 collaborative community health needs assessment in Cook County (Illinois, USA) with 30+ hospitals and healthcare systems.

I have developed and carried out interviews with local growers and producers, food justice advocates, policy experts, and insurance providers to inform a food is medicine strategy and advocacy approach meant to strengthen the case for local procurement and reimbursement in Illinois.

With community members and pubic health experts in Guinea (West Africa), I coordinated the development and administration of a proactive community case detection program of malaria for children under five.

I also developed and implemented a shared food access and nutrition security work plan with community-based organizations, hospital and healthcare system partners, and food justice advocates in Chicago (Illinois, USA).

Strategic Planning

Community Engagement & Power Shifting

I supported a local public health department in collaborating with community leaders to implement health equity in all policies. This approach is intended to increase health and race equity considerations among planning and policy makers.

With young female students and mothers in Guinea (West Africa), I led a women’s health group that organized to improve maternal health and decrease taboos associated with family planning.
